Broker's Comments
Henri Wauquiez established an initially small shipyard in 1965 in Northeastern France. With a strong association with British designers (Hood and Dubois amongst them) the yard specialised in quality offshore sailing boats with both performance and comfort in mind. The Wauquiez Centurion range began with the earliest and smallest, the 32 in 1968 and most recently up to the Centurion 61 which was in production in 2021.
The Centurion 38 has all the Wauquiez ethos in abundance. Her powerful sloop rig is easily controlled with lines leading into the cockpit and she feels very safe and secure as you move around the deck. Going below the hand holds in the companionway make it easy and she really opens up into a lovely interior space with a very seamanlike layout.
In the last 5 years she's had numerous upgrades: a new engine, standing rigging, decking and electronics and having the benefit of a knowledgeable owner she really is, to me, a lovely example of a great design. On deck she's tidy and well found, below she's clean, fresh and dry and I can imagine she will be an absolute pleasure to sail
