ARC Rally 2025
Every year the ARC sends a whole procession of boats 2,700NM across the Atlantic. This year, Neil Chapman, founder and CEO of Boatshed.com is joining them on Supertaff.

“Supertaff and I have history. She’s the same boat that rolled 360 degrees back in 1998, a story that still lurks in the back of my mind every time the wind howls through the rigging.
Neil Chapman, Boatshed founderNow, decades later, I’m still here, still sailing her, still running a business from the middle of the ocean thanks to a satellite the size of a salad bowl. That blend of old and new, varnished wood and low-orbit bandwidth, pretty much sums it up.”
We’ve got a Starlink Mini running perfectly, mounted inside the hatch to avoid deck clutter.
It’s remarkable, though, sitting in mid-Atlantic with an internet connection stable enough to send files and check forecasts. 10 years ago, this would have been science fiction. Now it’s part of the kit list, somewhere between the winch handle and the tea bags. And that means I can still work with the Boatshed HQ team.

We are currently in Las Palmas marina preparing for departure on 23rd November to Rodney Bay on St.Lucia. Find out more about ARC here.
Read Neil's thoughts so far on preparing for the trip on Substack.
We’ll be keeping you up to date all the way, so keep a look out on our Boatshed blogs and social media channels.
Bon voyage, Neil.
