Broker's Comments
The 2018 J-97e Cruising/ Racing Sloop a trait shared by all J- designs, Rod Johnson designs Boats that are easily driven, easily handled and genuinely fun to sail which provide greater long-term “sailing value” to their owners than other designs driven by the latest rating rule or that are compromised to meet the latest styling trends. Form follows function in good sailboat design, of which the J/97e is no exception.
Commissioned & delivered to this one time owner in early part of 2019 this particular J-97e has a number of additional features the owner wanted in addition to being a great cruising boat the owner is an avid Sailor & has previously owned several blue water cruising boats over the years although the J97e is his first one design, along with some added features to include a cruising package which in addition to wheel steering also boasts carbon fiber furling head sail & mainsail by UK Sail Makers which makes for a rapid racer/ cruiser with many creature comforts of a larger cruising vessel. Quick around the mark & equally fast off the wind with a Code Zero Asymmetrical Spinnaker this J-boat can get up to speed within little to no time is a great mid sized contender in its class. Equally for cruising it’s also great weekend cruiser as it’s 11' beam is a big benefit to the cabin, and it’s really an elegant use of the space down below.
A versatile boat for exploring the inland water ways & bays of the S. Texas Gulf coast. Ideal for a couple or small family alike.
