Broker's Comments
The first thing that struck me when I approached this Moody 33 Mk 1 was the immaculate looking state of the hull, it positively shines. And the topsides are similarly like new.
The spray hood has an extension over the cockpit which gives cover between the saloon and the aft cabin.
The owner has put a lot of thought into the maintenance of this Moody. Conservative sailing has not seemed to stress the rig.
The saloon has been redesigned to make dining arrangements more flexible and new cupboards fitted throughout.
The heads is an electric Lavac and with doors separating it from the fore cabin and saloon - this area is particularly large.
The headlining in the forecabin and the walls in both cabins feature a soft short pile foam that adds to the cosy feel of the boat.
Upholstery looks good, including the aft cabin.
Access to the Perkins engine is good. It started easily and ran smoothly, as the video shows. The pilot berth has been modified to afford more storage. Navigation aids at the helm and at the nav station are adequate.
The rigging and sails look to be in good order to me.
The boat was lifted earlier this year for anodes, antifouling and hull polish.
This 1978 Moody Mark 1 has obviously been cherished and there looks like plenty of life in it for future adventures.
